Infrasounds are the semi-perceptible rumblings that fall outside the low range of our human hearing, from 20hz all the way down to .00001hz (with many more zeros), that come from earthquakes, airplane engines, elephants, and sorta-secret weapons. Equal parts storytelling and science, Terrible Resonance (sample) tells stories from people who have heard whale song in-person; people who have built car stereos with subwoofers so powerful that they scramble eggs; a fencer who saw ghosts made out of sound; and a real-life mad scientist who almost shook his lab apart by turning on his infrasonic cannon. The audience was be able to step in and out of the pocket of infrasound and experience the terrible resonance for themselves. Also, spoiler alert: the universe used to sound like dubstep.
