if y’r sticking around sunday evening, be sure to check out the dance/music spectacular taking place this sunday, featuring the styling of megapolites Audrey Chen, Timothy Nohe, Luca Marini, and about ten other artists.
here’s the full announcement from principal organizer mr. nohe, who, unlike mr. megapolis, has literate:
2640 Move/Music, an interdisciplinary evening organized by Timothy Nohe featuring dance, electro-acoustic music, real-time animation and video projection.
Choreographers, musicians, and artists are responding “in the round” to the unique features and acoustics of an 110 year-old church located in Baltimore’s Charles Village. The dancers will work with live video cameras and projection, body extensions, light environments, and extended techniques in modern and tap movement. The musicians will employ architectural elements within the church, extended vocal techniques, laptops, wine glasses, saxophone, ebow guitar, wavetable synthesis, zither, bowed percussion, toys, and waterphone.
Doors 7:30 PM > Event 8:00 PM
Event included in the Megapolis Festival Weekend Pass, or $10 to the public, $8 to students and seniors
2640 Space is located at 2640 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, MD 21218
We just did a refresh of our Schmedule yesterday and are adding a bit more today, trying to make it easier to how you’re going to occupy every minute of your day when at MEGAPOLIS. We broke the daytime chunks into manageable 45-minute or 1-hour chunks. During the day, save for lunch and when a special big thing is happening, we try to always have one of the following going:
…and other fantastical things that don’t neatly fit into a category but are still a mazing. And if we didn’t make it obvious, you should go check out the installations during your down times or when you need a break from the action. BIG NOTE: all three of the installations at WYPR are interactive and need your input - you can go during either day but Saturday is better to get your audible contribution played live during our closing ceremony.
Any further questions about reading the schedule should be directed to our consumer relations department in email: contact AT megapolisfestival.org. We’ve got a friendly staff on call 24/7 - we don’t even feed them or give them breaks! (I mean, why?)
Check our advanced ticketing options for your tickettocketing pleasures.
